SEVENTH SAGE moved up stoutly on the outside of the opposition rounding the stretch turn, took command an eighth out and drew into a handy lead nearing the end. MALEMUTE displayed much speed from the start, but was hard pressed through the stretch to outlast DESTINY DEB. The latter raced forwardly throughout and held on courageously. BELLE-TARA, never far from the leaders, finished strongly. MENTOR JOY began slowly, but closed some ground in the last quarter. The others tired. IMA LADY closed stoutly on the outside through the stretch and finished wearing down the leaders. TIME PLEASE closed much ground and came strongly in the stretch. FALSE CARD also finished Wrongly. ENTANGLING and CARRYING TIME both tired. GRECIAN TIME was crowded back on the far turn. SHE DID closed very fast on the outside through the stretch and, overhauling the leaders a sixteenth out, won going away. EMPRESS HILLS displaved the most, speed until midway of the stretch and was doing her best at the end to stall off CELEBRATE. The latter, a keen factor from the start, finished courageously. GOUNOD steadily improved position and finished strongly. BROWN MOSS closed some ground. QUEEN ISLAM and JURABOY showed earlv speed, but tired. The latter worked way up between horses in the stretch and finished gamely. RED IDOL was a keen factor to the final eighth, then tired. GALLANT GLANCE raced into contention between horses entering the stretch and held on determinedly. WELSH LAD took command just before leaving the back stretch, saved ground in the run home and held on couraeeously. BLACK MISCHIEF made a threatening move on the stretch turn, but tired, in the closing staees. CAPTAIN JEFFERS also tired in the closing stages. RUNMILTON and TOWTONS TITLE quit badlv. VELOZ worked way up on the outside and easily disposed of the others in the stretch. AZAFRAN raced into contention midway of the back stretch, then failed to keep pace with the opposition in the last quarter, but was much the best of th« remainder. The others tired badly.
