BEWITCH, never far back, assumed command when ready and then drew out to win as her rider pleased. PELT, away slowly, and outrun to the stretch, finished fast, but could not threaten the winner. LORIOT raced evenly to the stretch, but failed to rally when roused for the drive. MERRY ZAC, away alertly, tired during the stretch run. BOBALEE began sluggishly and was never a serious factor. Noel; bred by Harry Bensinger. WENT TO POST— 5:01. OFF AT 5:011 CENTRAL STANDARD TIME. Start good from stall gate. Won driving; second and third the same. CAMPS FIRST, away fast, made the pace to the final turn under pressure from CID PLAY, shook off the latter after reaching the stretch and then lasted to withstand DOCKIE. The latter, never far back and reserved to the final quarter, closed strongly, but could not overtake the winner. HEYDAY saved ground to the stretch, drifted out during the last three-sixteenths and broke down badly after the finish. FLY OFF raced evenly and had no mishap. AMERICAN EAGLE was never dangerous. CID PLAY engaged CAMPS FIRST for three-quarters, then gave way. CHOPPY SEA was outrun. EIGHTH RACE 1 1-16 MILES. Lady Madcap, May 24, 1922—1:44-4—113.
