Mayer stock farm here, which is up for sale, is one of the worlds finest thoroughbred nurseries and having already served as a vital part in improving the breed in California, it will probably continue to do so for many years to come. The Mayer Farm comprises 504% acres of flat, rich, valley land. It is contained by 23 miles of woven wire fence and has seven wells, insuring a plentiful water supply. Two 36-stall training barns, two eight- stall foaling barns, a six-stall stallion barn, three hay and feed barns and a 12-stall isolation barn are on the property. The huge farm is divided by a state highway, enabling the property to be sold either in one parcel or two farms of 2641* acres and 240 acres, respectively. Buildings, liberally apportioned on each section, include residences and cottages, office buildings, commissary, carpenter, machine and paint shops and tool shed. A one mile training track, considered one of the finest racing strips in the United States, is equipped with a 12-stall electric starting gate. The center field is planted in 35 acres of alfalfa.
