ABRASION, quickest to begin, was sent along under light urging, held a clear lead entering the stretch, then began bearing out, but was kept going under steady urging and held PRIVATE HOWIE safe. The latter, forwardly placed on the outside, rallied mildly under pressure, but was not good enough. MATTIE SUE finished with gocd courage on the inside. TWO DOWN forced the pace to the final furlong, then weakened. NIGHT EDITOR brcke slowly and was never a serious factor. SUN FLAME had no excuse. MATADOR JOHN disposed of LUMPKIN after a quarter, drew into a comfortable lead and was not extended while widening advantage. SANCHILLA broke alertly, was in close quarters early and was rushed into contention when eear, then closed willingly under pressure to earn a dead-heat with IPP. The latter, slow to settle in stride, was sent up fast on the outside to enter contention, then failed to rally under urging. LUMPKIN held on gamely when displaced. SEA TRAIL raced wide through the stretch. MOLLY PITCHER weakened after a half mile. The others were outrun. GAL DU moved into contention with a rush, raced very wide on the turn and finished along the outside rail GALLANT DOT saved ground while racing true, but was not good enough. SPY HIGH broke alertly, but was unable to keep up under steady urging. BRONZACA closed stoutly after straightening in the stretch. AMELIA S. went evenly. CHALLARKER moved through on the inside entering the stretch to loom as a threat, then flattened out. CREOLE BABE retired steadily after six furlongs. THE BAGEL appeared to dislike the going. Y GUN, in hand while saving ground, rallied mildly under steady urging and closed well WINSOME LAD disposed of BILLY PERRY after a half, drew clear, had nothing left when challenged and tried to bear out under pressure. ALBERTO D. raced wide under .light urging, moved up threateningly and was bothered slightly by WINSOME LAD. IS I AINT moved closest to the leader after five furlongs, rallied mildly under pressure to threaten the leader, then faltered OCEANUS, slow to begin, closed on the extreme outside with a belated rush ROUGH ALLY showed nothing. QONA forced the early pace and was unable to reach the leader under urging, then tired. CANEE went evenly.
