To Throw Open Centerfield At Churchill Downs Today CHURCHILL DOWNS, Louisville, Ky., May 1. — For the first time in history, the conveniences of the centerfield will be thrown open to racing fans on a Friday as well as Derby Day, it was announced here today. Anticipating a record "advance" throng on Friday, the full centerfield facilities will be available the extra day. This includes refreshments as well as pari-mutuel wagering. In addition, the day will serve as a tryout and to smooth out any possible flaws which might develop in accommodating the capacity patronage expected for the Derby.
