Bubbling Bubbling Easy Easy Continues Continues to to Triumph; Triumph; Preoccupy Preoccupy Victorious Victorious in in Seasons Seasons Bow Bow Big Casino Second j ► In Churchill Dash Sets Own Pace to Be Home In Clear; Dodson Enjoys Perfect Day in Saddle CHURCHILL DOWNS, Louisville, Ky., May 7. — Preoccupy, John Marschs three-year-old Bull Dog and Miss Bunting colt, was a front-running victor here today in the Unbreakable Purse, one of the top attractions on an excellent program. Taken to the front at the start of the six-furlong sprint by jockey Douglas Dodson, Preoccupy coasted through the stretch to a length and one-quarter decision over Dix-ianas Big Casino, who was second by five lengths in advance of Mrs. Katherine T. Maxwells Fleetridge, third in the band of eight starters. Dodson handled his third straight winner astride Preoccupy. Making his first start since last August at Washington Park, Preoccupy carried his 118 pounds over the fast strip in 1:12ft and choice in the "tote" returned his backers even money. The Marsch colt made an impressive appearance, suggesting that he will be a keen factor in the three-year-old division during his 1947 campaign. The start was delayed for about 10 minutes when M. A. Waldheims Fifteenth, a scheduled starter for the Unbreakable, unseated his rider and ran off. After evading the outriders for some time, Fifteenth finally was caught and the stewards ordered the colts withdrawal. Asserts Superiority Preoccupy was alertly handled at the start and Dodson sent his mount to the front at once with Our Questions offering a good bid during the run to the upper turn. After shaking off Our Questions, Preoccupy then was mildly roused and he had no difficulty in withstanding a bold challenge from Big Casino, who closed stoutly under Steve Brooks brisk handling. Fleetridge made a game try entering the stretch, but the Arkansas Derby victor apparently was overmatched and he failed to stay during the last eighth.
