Straus Named to Presidency Of Maryland Breeders Assn. PIMLICO, Baltimore. Md., May 7.— Henry Lobe Straus, prominent owner and breeder, last night was elected president of the Maryland Horse Breeders Association, succeeding Joseph F. Flanagan, who resigned the office several weeks ago following his appointment as steward representing the Maryland Racing Commission. Straus, who is president of the American Totalisator Company as well as president of the Tropical Park race track, was elected to office at the regular meeting of the Maryland Horse Breeders Association held last night in the Pimlico clubhouse, following the last race. Rigan McKinney was elected to the post of first vice-president, John T. Pons, second vice-president; Goss Stryker, secretary and treasurer, and Humphrey Finney was renamed to his post of field secretary. The new board of directors include F. A. Bonsai. G. Ray Bryson, Bruce Campbell, Janon Fisher, Jack Healey, Mrs. Robert H. Heighe, Rigan McKinney, L. M. Merryman. Henry Parr III., Adolphe Pons, Danny Shea, H. L. Straus, G. L. Stryker and Alfred Vanderbilt.
