Twenty-Four Juveniles Nominated for Lansing Black Sambo Heads Eligibles for Next Wednesdays Detroit Stake FAIR GROUNDS, Detroit, Mich., May 13. — One of the fleetest fields of juveniles to ever parade postward at the Fair Grounds is expected to answer the bugle here next Wednesday afternoon for the first running of the 0,000 added Lansing Stakes, a five furlongs allowance event for two-year-old colts and geldings. Attaches of racing sec-cretary Charles McLennans office released a list of 24 nominations for the mid-week feature and, included in the probable Lansing starting band, are some of the quickest youngsters in training this season. Heading the Lansing eligibles are Mrs. Samuel Rosens Black Sambo, O. F. Woodwards Old Tom, Brown Hotel Stables Go Jeep Go, Jack A. Chambers Bolingover, Thomas Grays Oil Capitol, and H. A. Clarks Son of Judith, among others. Old Tom stamped himself as a colt of considerable class last week at Churchill Downs when he scored impressively in the historic Bashford Manor Stakes. Old Tom turned the tables in the Louisville feature on Black Sambo, who had previously beaten him in the important Lafayette Stakes at the Keeneland course. Go Jeep Go, defeated but once since he began his racing career, also has a stake victory to his credit, having sped to a game triumph in the Duncan F. Kenner Stakes at the New Orleans Fair Grounds early this year. Oil Capitol, who is to race coupled with Old Tom, visited the winners circle during his Kentucky campaign; Son of Judith also was successful in the Blue Grass, while Bolingover, adjudged best of the yearlings last December in New Orleans, has shown speed enough in recent engagements to merit consideration in the Lansing. Others named for the Lansing are Avon Stables Carryall, Theodore D. Buhls Bowled Over and Sweep Bolt; Mrs. H. A. Campbells Al Cheers, Mrs. J. R. Collins Hy Toned, L. Lewis Sharp, Sydney I. Crews Cross Wave, James O. Ellis Squint, Henry Forrests Fine Art and Cross Wise, Frederick C. Gablers Spurchase, Joseph A. Goodwins Donke Serenade, M. C. Haddix Air Arm, Mrs. Moody Jolleys Steady Beau, Mrs. O. C. Neumans Bully Boy, Thomas Piatts Best Degree, E. Barry Ryans Little Zac, and Mrs. R. E. Wingfields Rapid Robert.
