EVANS MOUNTAIN broke alertly, drew into a clear early lead while under mild urging and, while giving way readily to the top one, held on fairly well. JOLIRAB raced evenly. IMPUDENCE was well placed from the beginning, saved ground throughout and was put to strong handling in the last quarter, but could not gain on the top one. BALTIMORE JIM pressed the pace in hand for the first half mile, was under extreme pressure through the last quarter, but failed to rally. WINGED had no mishap in an even effort. Ambrose Clark. WENT TO POST— 5:06. OFF AT 5:06* EASTERN DAYLIGHT TIME. Start good from stall gate. Won easily; second and third driving. ROCKLYE assumed command when ready rounding the turn, drew into a long lead without urging and won with something in reserve. SPICEBUSH had speed, saved ground much of the way, but was no match for the winner. BLUESWEEP was well placed from the beginning and saved ground, but lacked a closing rally when roused for the drive. ADVANCE broke slowly, worked his way up on the outside rounding the turn and made a determined bid in the late stages. GRETNA GREEN and WASSERMATTER were outrun. Scratched— 734954 Army March, 1.
