BILLS PAL was always forwardly placed and had no mishap. BUDDING BERRY lacked a rally. MIRACLE ROD faltered after showing early speed. The others failed to reach serious contention. BUNK improved his position gradually and was under extreme pressure to wear down SANDGLASS. The latter was allowed to open a commanding lead, was challenged in the late stretch and held on surprisingly well. BIG CHRIS continued on gamely through the stretch BEAU BRIAR came from far back to close full of run. OLD FELLOW weakened. TROUT LAKE dwelt at the start. BLACK FOX RUN moved into serious contention after the first half mile, fenced well while displacing the leaders and swerved repeatedly through the final flat in front of LIVELY MAN. The latter raced with the pace and jumped fairly well, responded to pressure and held on gamely. GREEK FLAG reached the leaders after a mile, was pinched back after the tenth jump and failed to threaten thereafter. SEA OTTER raced with the leaders to the eighth fence, almost went off the course following a bad landing at that obstacle, then dropped back steadily after another bobble at the ninth jump. WAGEL raced GAVIN into defeat on the turn, drew clear rapidly and held ONCE ONLY safe to win cleverly. ONCE ONLY raced forwardly, made up ground on the top one, but could not seriously threaten. BOUGENT raced well after being slow to settle into stride. CRYSTAL PASS broke alertly, was shuffled back slightly and failed to keep up. GAVIN showed good speed to hold the lead to midway of the turn, then tired badly. FAULTFINDER was hi close quarters behind horses through the stretch. DARLING MAN weakened. WISTFUL, steadied when bothered slightly on the first turn, moved boldly soon after leaving the backstretch, gained command at the furlong pole and was under intermittent pressure when IMACOMIN held on tenaciously. The latter set the pace under well-judged handling and fought it out gamely in the final stages. ADMIRED raced forward throughout, but lacked a rally when set down. SUNNY VALE, sluggish early, closed with good energy. BLACK CHIFFON moved on the final turn and tired. MY CELESTE raced well in the late stages. RAISE YOU was through early, as was Lady Dorimar.
