s e j Four Leaf Clover Taken by Siddons Shows Vast Improvement in Sportsmans Win; Skoronski Astride Four Winners SPORTSMANS PARK, Cicero, 111., May 13. — Miss Lydia Webers Siddons, an inconsistent gelding who was beaten some 13 lengths in his lone outing of the season over this course, came through with a vastly improved performance to score in the Four Leaf Clover Purse before a gathering of 10,054 here this afternoon. The five-year-old son of Remoling — Morning Fair, by Midway, was many pounds the best while scoring by a half length. She bore out badly on two of the turns and once caused considerable interference, but continued to outgame J. W. Sniders Blue Agent in the drive. Third in the seven furlongs affair came Chance Bea, owned by J. Simon and R. Wilkinson. Sharing the spotlight with Siddons victory in the feature was Tony Skoronski, the hard-riding Chicago lad who began the program with a bang by piloting the first three winners, bringing his total to 26 for the 17 days of sport thus far. He gained his initial triumph on the favored Delorah and then followed with Ghost Bound and Chance Day. He came back to score with Well Wisher in the nightcap for his fourth success. Fails Astride Monfalon Most of the patrons interested in the Four Leaf Clover expected him to round out a quartet astride the favored Monfalon, but the filly was forced wide twice during the running and was virtually eliminated. She displayed a dash of early speed but not enough to avoid the trouble she encountered. Siddons had the services of Darl Norman, a lad who recently lost his appi entice allowance, in the saddle. Norman had his hands full throughout in attempting to keep Siddons from causing more trouble than he did, which hardly would have been possible. Throughout the running he was concerned with keeping the gelding from darting towards the outside rail. Red Ginger had the most early speed of the field of seven and was pressed early by Monfalon with Chance Bea running along easily in third place. Monfalon forged to the front for a few strides or two, but couldnt sustain her speed and when Siddons took out several horses on the clubhouse turn, Blue Agent, who was lucky to escape the interference was sent through on the inside to assume command. Siddons, in spite of his broken field running, however, was still to be reckoned with and he was hustled along to cacth Blue Agent. Again on the turn into the stretch he made a wide arc and Blue Agent regained command, but in the drive weakened steadily and succumbed to the late bid of the winner, who by this time was out in the middle of the track. Siddons raced the distance of l:304s and returned 5.60 to his backers.
