Illinois Notes SPORTSMANS PARK, Cicero, 111., May 13. Frank Ashley, who describes the running of the races over the public address system lat Arlington Park and Washington Park, arrived from Churchill Downs. A shipment bound for Omaha, Neb., next week, will contain Blue Agent, Ricks Raft, Jodas Joe, Cowlan and Orange County, according to trainer J. E. Bilbrey. The band is owned by J. W. Snider, and will race at Ak-Sar-Ben. C. A. Tanner is leaving next week for Ak-Sar-Ben with Air Commander, Keen Olo and Nonferro, owned by himself and will take a draft of the M. H. VanBerg thoroughbreds to the Omaha, Neb., course. Edwin A. Rouleau, a placing judge at this track, plans to vacation in New York City until the opening later in the season here of Hawthorne. Rouleau is a member of the official staff at the Cicero, 111., mile oval. Percy James, Jr., an owner of thoroughbreds on a modest scale, came from his home in Fairbury, 111., and plans to view the remaining days of the sport at this course. Sam Gorbet arrived from his home in Hudson, 111., and took over the few horses his son, Glen, left here for the remaining days of the session. The younger Gorbet has departed for Cleveland, Ohio, where he has a string of horses in training at Randall Park. Tony Skoronski, leading rider at this meeting, has been assigned to handle Mrs. A. M. Durschs Anns Lee in the Crete Handicap, featured on the opening day card on Monday of the Lincoln Fields-at-Washington Park meeting. Little Fawn will be given a new home after she races in the seventh race on todays card, trainer J. E. Bilbrey revealed. The nine-year-old daughter of Jean Val Jean has been sold by J. W. Snider to D. McKinney in a private transaction. William H. Bishop augmented his stable considerably when he claimed Super Wolf from Valley Fiew Farm for 0,000 out of the seventh race Wednesday. The claim was one of the highest in the history of the half-mile track, according to local officials. Trainer Carmody VanScoy brought the two juvenile fillies, Unique Reward and First Trial, from Louisville, Ky., and quartered the pair at Washington Park. Trainer Dave Womeldorff added to the unit he has stabled at Washington Park for various owners, If Blue, Quimby, Beau Gab and Walkie Talkie. Ben Fogelson announced that a division of his horses will be sent next week for racing at Ak-Sar-Ben near Omaha, Neb. Fogelson will have a dozen under his care at the Lincoln Fields-at-Washington Park meeting and is sending west the horses, Petsome, Peg, Black Ra, Frankie D. and Busy Pony.
