Good Hostess Galloping Winner at Randall Park Holds Five-Length Advantage Oyer Good Baby in Flares Purse RANDALL PARK, North Randall, Ohio, May 24. — Good Hostess carried the maroon and white silks of the prominent Detroit automobile dealer and sportsman, Samuel J. Brown, to a decisive triumph over a rough and heavy racing strip, capturing the six-furlong Flares Purse in galloping fashion with five lengths to spare over Mrs. H. S. Katterhenrys Good Baby. She in turn easily bested Alabama Boy, owned by the Question Mark Stable, with Dick Stickney closely lapped on him in fourth position. The victorious four-year-old daughter of Good Goods and Air Hostess was saddled by the successful trainer, Stanley Lipiec, with Cuban-born jockey Armando F. Martinez in the saddle. Good Hostess was the first successful favorite of the afternoon and" returned her backers .20. The weather was pleasant, although rain fell during the early races. The smallest gathering of the meeting attended, being estimated at 3,000, with the mutuel handle" suffering proportionately. Good Hostess was clearly the best of her rivals in the Flares and, after being hustled to stay with the leaders in the early running, came through next to the inside railing to draw away in the stretch run. Good Baby was a sharp factor until headed by the winner, then held on well while drifting slightly wide and was much the best of the other six participants.
