EVER MESSAGE, under restraint early, attained command and drew clear rapidly, winning with speed in reserve. LITTLE NOBLE was outrun early, moved between horses, but could not get within striking distance of the top one. HISTORY MAKER rallied after six furlongs and tired. CEDAR BIRD caught tired horses. ICE DANCER lacked a rally. SILVER PUTTER showed nothing. MATINEE RIDE set the pace and flattened out early. LILAC LADY was through after a half mile, as was NEDLON. MY YEAR quit to a walk. RAW CORD moved into the first flight along the backstretch, reached the leader from the outside in midstretch and proved best in the drive. HONEY ETHEL, rated while pressing the pace, assumed a clear lead in the early stretch and faltered. HIDDEN FIRE raced forwardly and rallied mildly. HEDDY B. was rated in front to the stretch and faltered. PIC-ON-ME, taken up leaving the backstretch, raced well thereafter. SHY EYES quit. MAD PASS, always prominent, drove between horses in the early stretch and outfinished VERA CONNELLY. The latter moved boldly to join the leaders turning for home, then was not good enough in the drive. Boulmetis claimed a foul against the winner, but no action was taken. MUSICIAN, always a factor, lacked a closing rally. SYNTET, away alertly but unable to keep up, was racing fastest of all at the end. FALSELY closed full of run. ISTAN sprinted to the front leaving the chute, increased his advantage at will and v/on with speed to spare. MARK UP showed-speed throughout, was no match for the winner, but outlasted WOODFORD SIR. The latter could make up no ground on the top one and was kept in a bit close by MARK UP in the drive. BOOM BOOM caught tired horses in the late stages. SIR RUSTY raced wide and without pressure. ALMAC set the pace while under strong restraint, gave way briefly while allowing WICKERS WISH to move through along the inside, then outfinished the latter in the drive. WICKERS WISH, always prominent, gained a slight lead briefly on the final turn and fought it out gamely. ALEXIS broke tardily, raced wide early, then closed well along the inside. PENNON made up ground in the late stages. GRAY WARRIOR raced evenly. JETSAM tired early. DARALET showed speed along the inside and tired. Overweight— Daralet, 2 pounds. SEVENTH RACE 1 1-16 MILES. The latter raced on the outside and, after MELS CHIC opened up, was roused through the stretch DECOY set the pace under rating but was not good enough. COMELY BABE made up ground steadily ARDENT MISS pressed the pace without need of urging, then flattened out when asked for speed. MISS PEBBLE showed nothing.
