Pierce Receives Tarawa GARDEN STATE PARK, Camden, N. J., May 28. J. H. "Slim" Pierce this morning received the plater, Tarawa, from a Chicago farm, bringing his local stable to 12 head. The Palatine establishment will ship to Delaware Park at the conclusion of the current season. Pierce will journey to New York this week-end to attend the wedding of his son, Joseph Howard, Jr.
