JOEVAL was hustled to the front soon after the start, increased her margin easily and, although tiring at the end, was able to hold MARIE EGRET safe. The latter broke tardily, was sent between horses on the turns, then came to the outside with a belated rush. MISS TESS, a forward factor on the outside, was steered to the inside for the drive. BOSS B., well out throughout, held on gamely. ANN ROSE showed an even effort. SHIRLEYS PRIDE weakened after forcing the early pace. ESS JAY ESS showed nothing. METAPHOR flashed brief speed. WITH EASE assumed command after disposing of BARGAIN BUYER, drew into a comfortable lead, but had to be placed under a steady drive to hold FUSILEER safe. The latter was slow to get going, closed with a rush on the inside and tired nearing the end. KIND MARIE was well up throughout and had no mishap. MOMOS BOY showed an even effort. TOP HONORS flatttened out after a quarter mile and did not appear to relish the footing. BARGAIN BUYER tired after losing command. GAY LANCE showed nothing. SIGN EGRET was never a serious factor. DUST SCREEN weaved between horses to draw in closest attendance of the pace nearing the far turn, continued to gain when roused and out-finished BOXIE. The latter was sent along with a clear lead, saved ground and held on tenaciously. BEAMING LIGHT, never far back, lacked a late rally. CORONET STAR moved into contention after three furlongs, then failed to make, up ground. BUSTER HOPE lacked early speed. KILAYR was rushed boldly on the outside after a quarter, then flattened out. FALSE FRONT came between horses on the final turn to challenge the leaders, appeared to hang, then closed with a belated rush to outfinish ABRA. The latter forced the early pace, tried to bear out on the far turn, was straightened quickly, then drifted out in the final sixteenth. GLOAM, well up with the leaders throughout, was forced to stay on the outside, losing valuable ground. EQUIROSE rallied mildly in the late stages. BOLO RUNAWAY set the pace for five furlongs, then tired. SCOTCH CUP showed nothing. V-JET went evenly. PLUCKY PRINCE was unable to keep up. BOBBY E. flashed brief speed. Start good from stall gate. Won easily; second and third driving. BEST DOINGS moved out within striking distance of the pace in the first quarter while under steadying restraint to the far turn, moved rapidly when J set down to take command entering the stretch and continued on stoutly while kept out in the middle of the track. BOO BOO SHOO began working his way up on the outside leaving the half-mile pole and saved ground ! on the turns, but was unable to gain under a drive. DOUBLE BRANDY was taken back at the start and kept . under restraint for a half mile, then moved gradually on the outside, but failed to make up ground after entering the stretch. AMERICAN GLORY outran his field, maintained a clear advantage for seven furlongs, then shortened stride and tired. SNEAK failed to threaten despite saving much ground in the late stages. I. nearing the furlong pole and closed determinedly under pressure. GALLANT G. I. assumed command at once, drew clear and was placed under steady restraint, maintained advantage to the final quarter, then turned back the challenge of GROUND FOG, but was unable to deny the winner. BOLO TIE broke alertly, swerved to the inside, brushed TOP SCORE, was straightened and alternated with JOLLY GREMLIN in setting the pace to the far turn, drew clear under pressure, saved ground, but weakened in the final sixteenth. UNKNOWN REWARD, outrun to the final quarter, finished well in the late stages. RED TAG raced with the pace to the far turn, dropped back, then came again in a mild challenge nearing the end.
