ENDURABLE was slow to respond, drove between horses and closed with a rush. BRIGHT COMET continued on gamely in the final drive. FLEET ARGO saved ground while vying for command and weakened. TIPSTAFF threatened in the early stretch and hung. NICK BLOOM showed good speed, but could not keep up. CARRYALL was outrun. CECIL M. flattened out badly. SECOND RACE 3-4 MILE out of chute. REPENTANCE, much the best, was allowed to drop far out of contention, secured racing room along the inside through the stretch and wore down VAGRANT CLOUD. The latter raced MISS WHIPPET into defeat after five furlongs, drew clear and just failed to last. BENVENUTO, outrun early and slow to respond, closed with a late rush. BLACK LEAD raced evenly. The latter was hard held while saving ground, rallied from the outside, then swung to the inside and closed full of run. ORELING weakened after establishing the pace. VAMAN0S, under restraint while within easy striking distance of the leaders, circled the field boldly to assume command and withstood the late drive of RAZZMATAZZ. The latter raced forwardly early, dropped back on the final turn, then came again. MIRTHMAKER raced with the pace to the stretch and faltered. RARE MINERAL moved through along the inside to take the lead, then faltered. APPROACH was never a factor. GALAMAN tired badly after racing with MIRTHMAKER during the early running. BUBBLE GUM, slow to settle in stride, secured room ajong the inside and closed with good energy. HASH NIGHT was slow to respond and closed fastest. MARK UP faltered after vying for command. ROYAL GOVERNOR raced on the outside and, forwardly placed from the beginning, responded when roused through the stretch, assumed command in the late stretch and withstood the late challenge of PIET. The latter lacked early speed, moved through along the inside while improving his position and closed with good energy. ROYAL BLOOD wrested command leaving the backstretch, saved ground rounding the turn, then weakened. BLUE BORDER was slow to respond and closed ground under pressure. SKYLIGHTER could not keep up. CAMARGO saved ground throughout, loomed a threat in the early stretch, but tired in the late stages. ALL IN FUN pressed the pace and faltered in the drive.
