Oak Brook Meeting Saturday Under Sanction of NSHA Rapidly gaining a reputation as the foremost race meeting of its type in the midwest, the Oak Brook Steeplechase will hold its second annual meeting next Saturday afternoon, June 4. The Oak Brook course was designed last year by a group of leading obstacle race authorities, headed by Carter Brown, well known steeplechase horse owner, trainer and rider. The course is located four miles northwest of Hinsdale at the corner of Cass Avenue and 22nd Street. From Chicago, it is 18 miles southwest of the Loop via Ogden Avenue and Cermak Road. As a result of the highly successful inaugural meeting last year, Oak Brook re-cevied the official sanction of the National Steeplechase and Hunt Association, thus assuring a large number of high calibre entries in each of the six races on the program. This is the first time in the 25 years of the NSHA that a Midwest meet has received the sanction of this body. Feature event of the meet will be the second running of the Oak Brook Challenge Cup, won last year by Paul Butlers Some Gold, with trainer-rider Hank Hel-gesen riding. Some Gold will probably be favored to repeat this year, but on the basis of entries already received by T. A. Mohlman, co-chairman of the racing committee, the 8-year-old gelding will encounter much stiffer competition than a year ago, when he won by 10 lengths.
