YANKEE RAIDER, never far back, moved up boldly entering the stretch and drifted out while under urging, but outgamed ERINSVILLE. The latter, on the outside throughout, reached the lead when settled for the drive, but could not withstand the winner. WATERCLOCK lacked early speed, but finished fast. MARKSMAN was outrun and had no mishap. EXPECTATION lacked early speed. MISS TEXAS tired after racing well to the final furlong. MISS 0GIFTIE began slowly. AUGUST went to the front at once, made the pace until inside the stretch, then gave way TRIBAL II. had early speed, but failed to stay. GEM 0MIAMI was done early. ANGRY COHORT, going in best form, was forwardly placed from the start, took command when settled in the stretch and. increased the advantage under brisk urging: VICTORY BLUE, a keen factor from the beginning, responded readily when set down in the drive, but could not reach the winner. NO LEDDIE went to the front at once, made the pace until inside the stretch, then faltered. POTSEY raced wide to the upper turn and continued to drift out during the stretch run. BROWN CLIPPER failed to stay after showing early, speed. CHARLES CITY raced wide. NEAT AND TIDY could not keep up and drifted out on the stretch turn. AROUND TOWN was never a serious, factor. WALTERS BOY, fractious at the post and away sluggishly, was hustled into serious contention after going a quarter, held on well to the stretch and, responding readily when set down in the drive, wore down the leaders and was up in the last strides. CID PLAY, a keen factor from the beginning, reached the lead between calls in the stretch, but could not withstand the winner and just missed. MESCARA went to the front after three-eighhs, held a short lead when settled for the drive, but faltered slightly during the last seventy yards. FIRST DEGREE, away fast, was taken in hand after going a quarter mile, came again when hard ridden through the stretch and finished strongly in a sharp effort. SECOND AVENUE, forwardly placed from the beginning, reached the lead when settled in the stretch and held on willingly thereafter, but could not withstand the winner, although much the best of the others. IS THERE could not better his position when set down through the stretch. ALL IS ON was outrun. UNITED NATION began sluggishly. BLUE TAIL FLY was never a serious factor. CONCORDAT raced greenly. HIKE, a keen factor after the opening quarter, could not better his position when hard ridden through the stretch. TABOURET was outrun. DELFEB raced prominently to the stretch, then tired.
