Constitution Handicap Easy for Best Doings Stuart Racer Shows Way Home To Boo Boo Shoo at Suffolk SUFFOLK DOWNS, East Boston, Mass., May 28. Mort Stuarts Best Doings encountered little difficulty in annexing top honors in the Constitution Handicap at Suffolk Downs this afternoon. The son of Best Seller Big Doings came to the end of the mile and one-sixteenth test, four and a half lengths before Murray Hill Farms Boo Boo Shoo. A neck back, C. E. Tuttles Double Brandy earned third money a length clear of the early pacemakers, D. A. Rosenbaums American Glory. Threatening weather failed to keep the attendance for the afternoon below par as 21,745 were on hand for the sport. Backers of favorites had to be content with two successes in the first six events. False Front won the fourth race in the role of favorite and Best Doings was installed an 8-to-5 choice. Sharing honors with Best Doings, was his pilot George Hettinger, who completed a triple astride the Stuart colt. He previously had won with C. C. Boshamers With Ease in the second race and Irving Gush-ens Judys Runner in the fifth race. Seven starters lined up for the Constitution and after a slight delay by Phil Schwartz Norwest, who reared up twice, Bob Frend sent them away in good style. As was expected, American Glory was sent .to,, the .top and opened, up. fouxr. length advantage in the initial quarter mile. Meanwhile, Hettinger did not let Best Doings drop too far off the pace and urged him slightly to gain a good position out in the hetter going. American Glory continued to dominate as the far turn was reached, but at this point Hettinger called on Best Doings and the response was kind, as the colt quickly drew alongside the pacemaker entering the final lane. It was certain that American Glory was "through as he shortened stride when collared, but the threat from Boo Boo Shoo and Double Brandy was very mild, and Best Doings was not under pressure as he galloped along in the knee-deep going that was very heavy.
