Seven to Match Strides In Broomstick at Omaha All Yen and Royal Pigeon Main Foes in Middle Distance Event AK-SAR-BEN, Omaha, Nebr., June 2. — Thomas Westropes Royal Pigeon, strapping f our - year - old daughter of Carrier Pigeon — Royal Duchess, tops a field of seven formidable middle-distance performers slated to parade postward in the Broomstick Purse, nominal feature on tomorrows program at this fashionable west side course. Under the allowance conditions of the mile and 70 yard headliner Floyd Williams All Yen will be asked to carry the highest impost of 120 pounds, but the Westrope colorbearer will probably rule the post-time favorite if recent efforts here can be used as a criterion of his present form. Slated to oppose Royal Pigeon and All Yen are other such capable charges as J. J. Eckroshs Ben B., Pre-Oma Stables Sweet Girlie, Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Gregorys Realization, Discombobulate, owned by the combined interests of E. Cross and H. Barring-ton, and H. L. Bakers French Navy. Royal Pigeon gave a creditable effort here in the second division of the Inaugural Handicap while finishing second to James T. Nis-sings highly regarded Silver Fire. Following that engagement Royal Pigeon came back and was unplaced behind Risky Hash, Reddy Boy and Foxy No Mark in the Memorial Day Handicap, but was not beaten by too large a margin. All Yet was unable to seriously threaten in the Inaugural, but has been working satisfactorily since and should be at his best for tomorrows test. Ben B., another member of those unplaced in the six-furlong second division of the Inaugural, should benefit by the additional distance of the Broomstick. Dark horse in the group is French Navy, who may be able to earn the major spoils if he should choose to come forth with his best effort. This Baker campaigner placed third in an intermediate claiming test and then returned to actual competition several days later and gave a bang-up performance while placing fourth in the Memorial Day event. Discombobulate defeated a mediocre band of platers in his debut here, but the manner in which he registered his triumph would seem to indicate that he is capable of turning back the.majority of the better allowance performers on the grounds. Realization was second to Discombobulate in the latters winning effort, and should improve with additional racing. Sweet Girlie has always shown a decided fondness for the local strip and must be considered a dangerous factor. w
