Senate Passes Bill Increasing Illinois Board Membership SPRINGFIELD, HI., June 2.— The series of horse racing bills introduced at this I session of the legislature was augmented by another passed yesterday by the Senate ■whereby the membership of the Illinois Racing Board would be increased from three to five members. Under the proposed bill, at least two of the five •members would be of the minority political party and two of the five would be active breeders of thoroughbreds. According to the present law, two members of the Board are majority party members and the remaining one from the minority. A second bill, however, which called for the rotation of racing dates among the states tracks each year so as to alternate on the choice holiday dates, was defeated in the Senate, receiving only 16 of .the 26 i Votes 1 needed-f or -passage This measure,- R.J sponsored by Sen. Clyde Trager Peoria also called for the racing board to allot" an equal number of racing days to all tracks located within 100 miles of eaclj.
