Miss America Stakes Draws Thirty Nominees Calumets Duchess Peg Named For Lincolns June 11th Feature WASHINGTON PARK, Homewood, 111., June 2. — The Calumet farms silks may be seen for the first time this year on a Chicago race course at the current Lincoln Fields meeting at Washington Park. This was revealed today when racing secretary L. C. Bogenschutz released the list of nominees for the second running of the Miss America Stakes for two-year-old fillies to be run on Saturday, June 11. The race at five furlongs for 0,000 added attracted 30 juveniles. Conspicuous among the nominations was that of Calumets Duchess Peg, a daughter of Whirlaway — Some Pomp. In her only two starts this filly has given promise of eventually writing her name on the list of Calumets great racing females which includes Twilight Tear, Bewitch and Wistful.
