Futurity Heads Roster Of Del Mar Features Minimum Purses Will Be Raised To ,000 for Coming Meeting DEL MAR, Calif., June 7. — Second running of the Del Mar Futurity and the raising of daily purses to the ,000 level highlight the stakes and purse program of the tenth Del Mar summer season, from July 26 to September 10, as announced today by Webb A. Everett, general manager and director of racing. The Futurity, which gives every indication of becoming the richest two-year-old event in the Far West, will gross close to 0,000. This six-furlong 5,000 added affair will be renewed Saturday, September 3. Del Mars tenth anniversary session will accent events for younger thoroughbred stars, with the second running of the 5,000 added Del Mar Derby also on the list. This three-year-old event will be presented Saturday, August 27. Complete list of stakes and handicaps follow: July 30, Bing Crosby Handicap, 0,000, three-year-olds and upward, six furlongs. August 6— La Jolla Handicap, 0,000, three-year-olds and upward, one mile. August 13 — Coronado Handicap, 0,000, three - year - olds and upward, fillies and mares, six furlongs. August 20 — San Diego Handicap, 0,000, three-year-olds and upward, one £nd one-sixteenth miles. August 27— Del Mar Derby, 5,000, three-year-olds, one and one-sixteenth miles.
