New York Notes BELMONT PARK, Elmont, L. I., N. Y., June 7. W. L. and Mrs. Brann have taken up their Greenwich, Conn., home for the summer and as a result are frequent Belmont Park visitors. Jack Skirvin, who recently announced that he would open a public stable, took over the training of three horses for John English of Schenectady, N. Y. The trio comprises two two-year-olds, Qui Melody and Two Bees, while the other is an older campaigner, Dark Trail. In addition to these Skirvin will train one for himself. Moody Jolley paid a one-day visit of inspection of the Cain Hoy string which he will take over to train after he has disposed of some horses he has been racing at Detroit. Jockey Robert Permane was on hand today for the first time since his spill at Gulfstream Park. He is hobbling about on crutches. Leslie Coombs is due here from Lexington, Ky., and will meet with Mrs. Graham and trainer George Odom in regards to the dispersal of some of the horses in the stable. Trainer Max Hirsch turned over three horses to Joe Kramer to campaign at Narragansett. They are Gainsay, Gay Jessica and one other. J. A. Kramer took eight horses to Nar-ragansett Park for racing there. Six are the property of Cain Hoy and two from the King Ranch. Dan Chappell, who has been here for several days representing the HBPA at meetings with the TRA and other bodies, returned to his Miami home. He has three horses in training here and five at Detroit. Tavistock, which was acquired by Philip Godfrey from the A. F. Plock dispersal, will be shipped to Narragansett Park for racing at that track. The Woodvale Stables Halt was returned from Boston where he raced in the Yankee Handicap. Trainer Morris H. Dixon reported that Adaptable, owned by Miss Ella Widener, injured his stifle and tore some ligaments in his last start. The fencer will be on the shelf for some time. Accident was the first sustained by the Widener fencer. Jockey Steve Brooks, following the running of the Belmont Stakes, will leave for Chicago to ride during the Arlington and Washington Park meetings. Apprentice Mike Danisi, who recently . suffered a fractured rib, has been given ; permession to resume riding next Monday. Dr. John M. Bowley, physician-owner-, trainer-breeders, reports that 15 foals, , all by The Fighter, have recently arrived ; at his Burlington, N. J., nursery.
