M. Wolf; bred by D. E. Holman. WENT TO POST-5:31. OFF AT 5:31 EASTERN STANDARD TIME. Start good from stall gate. Won ridden out; second and third driving. REDGIE, showing sudden improvement under a change of riders, reached the lead when settled in stride and drew clear when ridden out. PINK DEVIL raced evenly to the stretch, was sent between horses during the drive and finished strongly but could not reach the winner CHARLES CITY could not get to the leaders when hard ridden through the stretch. BEL STOCK went to the front early, made the pace to the stretch, then weakened. FROLICLAND was outrun. OMINOUS never was dangerous. WESTY STREAK attempted to pull himself up after the start. MARKSMAN tired after engaging BEL STOCK to the stretch. SANTA ROSEANNA, in close quarters entering the backstretch, dropped back and failed to threaten thereafter. CHOCK ABLOCK, far back and outrun to the last three-eighths, was blocked while moving up in the stretch, then was taken out to secure racing room and, finishing strongly between horses, was up in the last stride. MARKET OUT, outrun early, steadily improved his position to the stretch, reached command when settled for the drive, held on willingly, but could not withstand the top one and just missed. HIMMELEE, much used racing with TRY AGAIN to the stretch, forced the latter wide while drifting out during the drive, then closed determinedly. TRY AGAIN engaged HIMMELEE for three-quarters of a mile, then was forced out at the stretch turn by the latter and weakened during the final furlong. CAN STEP was outrun. THE PROBLEM failed to rally when set down in the drive DUDE W tired after showing early speed. QUEENS CHANCE was through early. Scratched— 760101 Barefoot Lad, 119; 762162 Timmy, 109. Attendance, 8,529; Total Mutuel Pool, 49,026.
