Hash Night Coasts Home In Kennet Square Purse Palatine Stable Colt Takes Lead At Break and Is Never Headed DELAWARE PARK, Stanton, Del., June 7. — Thoroughbreds sporting the silks of Frank Rosens Palatine Stable continued to gain recognition on this circuit when Hash Night was an easy winner of the Kennet Square Purse, todays feature mile and a sixteenth allowance event. Holding as much as an eight-length advantage at one stage of the running, the four-year-old Hash colt coasted to the wire in 1:44% while three and a half lengths clear of Grandview Stables All In Pun. Christiana Stables favored Camargo was another length and a half behind in third position. Hash Night was handled by the competent Johnny Gilbert and paid .20 to his backers in the crowd of about 7,500 fans. Gilbert hustled his mount from the barrier and after completing the first turn held a six-length margin over All In Pun with Camargo and Warship two lengths farther back. Pinal Touch and Boston Man raced as named at that stage of the journey. Camargo failed to respond when placed to pressure, but Pinal Touch moved willingly leaving the backstretch and seemed destined to become a definite threat. However, he was caught in close quarters along the inside shortly thereafter and in the vicinty of the three-eighths pole was taken up sharply and lost all chance. The final drive offered no opposition to Hash Night and he coasted home in what seemed his easiest victory to date. While there was not too much behind him, Hash Nights effort was an impressive one, and may go a long way in earning him a starting position in the 5,000 Sussex Handicap. at a mile and a quarter.
