Montchanin Handicap Feature at Delaware Desert Ruler, Ted Ml Included In Field for Nine-Furlong Race DELAWARE PARK, Stanton, Del., June 7. — Delaware Parks interesting Montchanin Handicap series has its second running as the feature of tomorrows midweek program and 13 capable performers have been named overnight. The Montchanin has weekly runnings and graduates in value and distances, with tomorrows running being at a mile and a furlong for a ,000 purse. Included in the field are Mrs. S. S. Zells Desert Ruler and A. E. Morris Ted M., winners in last weeks race, which was run in two divisions. Ted M. was timed a mile and a sixteenth in 1:44%. which was two fifths of a second faster than the time recorded by Desert Ruler. This accounts for him picking up four pounds, while Desert Rulers increase is but two pounds. The remainder of the field includes Mrs. E. H. Beezleys Black Lead, Knollwood Stables Red Pompon, Clover-Del Stables Cer Vantes, Blue Stone Farms Vals Kid, T. W. Baker, Jr.s Punchestown, J. M. Seiders Burts Reward, Mrs. Mary Robinsons Fulgura, Shamrock Stables Lion Rampant, P. J. Careys Oreling and the Sam Adelson entry of Manchac and Iron Pigeon. Manchac and Cer Vantes were first and second choices, respectively, in last weeks race, won by Desert Ruler. Neither showed a semblance of his true form and improvement can be expected. Cer. Vantes,* who. was regarded highly enough to have been made eligible for the rich Sussex Handicap, carried 124 pounds on that occasion, and while he drops two pounds, remains top-weight tomorrow. Tomorrows supporting program is quite attractive with no less than three of the races programmed worthy of top billing. They are the six-furlong fourth race for 5,000 to 2,000 claimers, and the mile and a furlong sixth, event for allowance performers. Receiving secondary billing is the last named event in which Harry Straus Pilaster, Palatine Stables Dobodura, Miss Mary Robinsons Halconero, G. R. Watkins Cat Bridge and D. Michaloves Gai Propos are scheduled to match strides. Pilaster is prepping for the Sussex Handicap, 5,000 event which will be run at a mile and a quarter later in the season. The Maryland-bred won 10 races and 2,000 last season, but has failed to grace the winners circle, this year. Head men in the three-year-old event are Greentree Stables Brick and Brandy-wine Stables Low and High, both of whom are eligible for both the Kent and Leonard Richards. Rounding out the fieid are Bernadotte Stables Gambler, Crispin Ogle-bays Sailing On, Grandview Stables Razzmatazz and Edward Werbers Vamanos.
