WAR RULER was sent into command on the rail, was hard put for the final quarter and lasted over EASY DOUGH. The latter was well placed on the outside, lost some ground on the turn, moved up to be on even terms for the lead in the stretch and hung. VESUVIO held a slight lead between horses early, forged through on the rail to be with the pace in the stretch and faltered near the end. LEAVENWORTH saved ground and had no mishap. REPRODUCTION gave way in the drive as if short of a top effort. TEDDY REIGH, reserved early, threatened mildly in the stretch and gave way. Teddy Reigh claimed by H. D. Maggio.
