► ■ — -* Patrick Quits as Ranger Coach to Run Coast Club NEW YORK, N. Y., May 5.— Lynn Patrick resigned today as coach of the New York Rangers of the National Hockey League to join his father, Lester, in the operation of the Victoria Cougars in the Pacific Coast League. Gen. John Reed Kilpatrick, president of Madison Square Garden corporation which owns the Rangers, said that no successor was in view at the time. Patrick, who coached the Rangers Into the finals of the Stanley Cup playoffs in his first fall season as manager, said that he was a partner of his fathers with the Cougars and felt that his future lay with that organization. Patrick also said that he preferred to have his three children grow up in some place other than % big city.
