FOR JON was well placed early, came to the outside of the early leaders on the stretch turn, took command in the last furlong and was ridden out AZURE raced well placed throughout and went well to the finish. WISE FRIZ overcame slight interference and turned in a good effort. STRADDLE was away badly and closed a gap to finish fast CHALDIA made up ground late. SOLID TRICK was forced to take up at the start and closed much ground. PITTACUS weakened. TEXAS BRAGS tired after being prominent for a half. SELDOM went to the front at once and, showing fine form in the footing, was never in danger of losing command. BEDAZZLE was closest to the winner and well in advance of the others throughout in a creditable effort. MANOLITA dropped back around the stretch tum, but continued well thereafter. GOOD CRY was in close quarters right after the start and made up some ground, but failed to threaten. SHOPPING SPREE raced on the outside. JOAN ANNE K. was used up reaching a contending position. LANDLORD improved his position after leaving the backstretch and coming to the inside in the stretch, headed the field entering the final furlong to draw out easily. LADY MARILYN closed up on BIRDIE LULLEY around the stretch turn and collared and disposed of her after being straightened out for the stretch run, but was not good enough to resist the winner. KNIGHTS HILL finished fast. BIRDIE LULLEY opened up a good lead in the early running but had little left when challenged. WICKI. WICKI tired. VENTOLINO made up some ground. BUGLEDRUMS saved ground in the stretch and was going gamely when he met with interference from BANK ACCOUNT. FIGHTING GUS improved his position in the run home and was going well at the end. BATTLEFIELD joined LIBERTY RAB in making a good pace in the muddy going, forged to the front of the latter after entering the stretch, but had to be hustled along near the end when COUNT TURF challenged. The latter was outrun by the leaders to the last eighth, then came stoutly and was gaining on the winner. LIBERTY RABjhowed fine speed for a half mile, then began to weaken, but retained enough power to hold the others. POINT CHICOT went evenly. LETS BUZ had some early foot. CEARA showed good speed while racing with FULLY AWARE, but weakened in the stretch run and was doing his best to save second place. FULLY AWARE showed a liking for the going, raced rather wide early and lost much ground on the stretch turn. INQUIRING saved ground in the stretch and raced fairly well to the finish. BLAZING was in close quarters soon after the start. SUPER-SALESMAN was forced to take up in the first quarter. INSOLENCE had to take up sharply leaving the backstretch and lost all chance. PAY WINDOW was sent after the leaders when five furlongs had been completed and, getting through on the inside of MIDIOPOLIS nearing the stretch turn, drew out in the stretch to win easily. MIDIOPOLIS made the pace under slight restraint and withstood an early challenge from BERET, but was not good enough for the winner. MISS DETROIT was going fairly well at the end.
