Alfred Rogers at Garden State GARDEN STATE PARK, Camden, N. J., May 5. — Apprentice Alfred Rogers, 17-year-old brother of the capable veteran Chris Rogers, was a belated arrival here this morning. The young product of Hamilton, Ont., began his career recently at Gulf-stream Park, where he impressed observers as an especially bright prospect. Rogers reported to his contract owner, trainer Don J. Ramsey, upon arriving from his home. Jimmy Cotter is handling his engagements.
