STICKER sprinted into command early, was given, a breather after a half mile, rallied when put to a drive and finished willingly. JET STAR raced close to the pace for six furlongs, moved on even terms entering the stretch, but was not good enough. SALERNO made a brief challenge after six furlongs, then faltered. OUTLAND rallied mildly to finish with good energy. REIGH JANE. was steadied close to the pace, moved up entering the stretch, but was not good enough. GRAND ENTRY was hustled throughout and failed to respond in the drive. COVERT SIDE established the pace to the stretch turn, then shortened stride. GRAND ISLE went well for six furlongs, then tired. VILLAGE BEAU, in hand while close to the pace and on the outside, moved readily when roused, caught the leaders inside the final sixteenth and forged to the front in the final yards. MON TORCH rushed between hones to reach contention after six furlongs, continued to gain while bearing in and might have won if he had raced straight during the final sixteenth. ALBERTO D. established the pace under light restraint, held on stubbornly when challenged and was pressing, at the end. RED TAG slipped through on the inside after five furlongs, continued to gain on the lead entering the stretch, drew on even terms, then faltered. CHERRY SODA closed stoutly with a belated rush.
