Big California Derby Press Representation San Diego Has Largest Group as Your Host Was Star at Del Mar CHURCHILL DOWNS, Louisvile, Ky., May 5. — The presence of the California-bred Your Host in the Derby line-up tomorrow drew the greatest representation of turf writers from the Golden State in the entire history of the Derby. Oddly enough, San Diego had the largest delegation of turf writers in Kentucky, solely because Your Host first gained na-tioinal prominence at the Del Mar race course when he won the 0,000 Del Mar Futurity last summer. Those from San Diego who are on hand to "cover" the Derby are Nelson Fisher, turf editor. The Union; George Herrick, sports editor, The Tribune; Phil Norman, turf editor, The Journal; Christy Gregg, sports editor. The Union; Bob Angus, turf editor, The Tribune, and Ken Bojens, sports editor, The Journal. From Los Angeles are Paul Lowry, turf editor, The Times; Maurice Bernard, turf editor, The Examiner; John Beekman, turf editor, The Daily News, and Jim Mitchell, turf editor, The Herald Express. San Francisco is represented by Jack McDonald, sports editor and columnist of The Call-Bulletin.
