OUR PICK went to the front at the start, made the pace to the stretch under steady handling, responded readily when hard urged during the drive and lasted to withstand FRERE JACQUES. The latter, a sharp factor from the start, saved ground while in hand to the stretch, was sent to the outside for the drive and, closing fast, was getting to the winner at the finish. BLUE HEDDA held on well to the last eighth, then faltered. JAY raced evenly to the stretch and was tiring badly when crowded during the drive. FAV0RIT0 raced wide during the last three-eighths MONTCALM cculd not keep up. SUN UMBER was far back throughout. Attendance, 8,500 Estimated; Total Mutuel Pool, 47,581
