North Carolina, ridden by royal jockey Harry Carr, started at 5 to 1 and beat the Aga Kahns Kameran by a half-length. Turks Reliance was another half-length away in the field of seven. North Carolina, a sta lemate of Mrs. Bryces Big Dipper, the top two-year -old of last season, out of the money last week in the Two Thousand Guineas. The distance of yesterdays race was two furlongs farther and American-owned colt appreciated the extra distance, staying on strongly in the uphill finish.
