? Double Feature At Jamaica Today Stunts, Mucho Mas Meet in 5 Jones Beach, While Heliowise a. Goes in Knight Errant Purse 5 JAMAICA, L. I., N. Y., May 10.— The e C Metropolitan Jockey Club is offering a a ► double feature for its next-to-last program 1 * at Jamaica tomorrow. The fifth event is a a " ,000 dash styled the Knight Errant, • j which has attracted five sophomores of ; some interest. This is followed by the e I ,500 Jones Beach Purse for older horses s at a mile and a sixteenth and which has s ; brought out a band of seven, including G. J H. Bostwicks Stunts. Stunts was unable to win a stake last t j year, winning two and finishing second in l ; two of his 10 starts, but, in 1949, was one ; j of the leaders of the handicap division. j Eddie Arcaro is slated to ride the six-year- . old in his seasonal debut at a moderate 116 . pounds and Stunts has been training well. ! The others in the Jones Beach are Gus-I tave Rings Jam Session and Quick Fire, with 113 and 114 pounds, respectively; San- ■ . ford Stud Farms Schroon and Ben F. Whitakers Deep Blue, 116 each; W. Goadby 7 Loews Khaki, 113, and Hudson Valley Stables Mucho Mas, 112. Mucho Mas may be favored here over the Whitaker entry and Stunts on the - strength of his good race last week in which i he finished second between Lights Up and I Palestinian at tomorrows distance. Lights ; "I Up was good enough to win the Peter Pan 1 and Lamplighter handicaps and Travels Stakes last year and finished second in the Belmont Stakes, while Palestinian was one ; of the leaders of the handicap division. • Apprentice Sidney Cole will ride Mucho Mas. Quick Fire Beaten by Ted M. f Quick Fire finished second, beaten a lit- . • tie more than a length by Ted M. here a week ago, while Jam Session was a well-beaten fourth behind Steel Blue on April I 26, but occasionally comes up with a smashing race. No rider has been named for Quick Fire, but an apprentice allowance has been claimed and Jack Colaneri is a likely prospect, while Ted Atkinson will again be on Jam Session. Of the others, Deep Blue showed little in his local sprint effort behind Symposium, but may improve, while Khaki finished "absolutely" in his only race at the meeting. Schroon will be making his 1951 " debut and the horses in this stable usually need a race or two, like those of most others. Fred W. Hoopers Heliowise, an improved sprinter, appears a likely choice jn the Knight Errant. He gets in with 108 pounds, most of which will be Jack Colaneri, and has won his last two starts at this meeting. The chief rival to Heliowise seems to be _ Mrs. George D. Wideners Knowitall, winner of his last start here. He will have George Hettinger in the saddle at 113 pounds. There will also be some support for King Ranchs Mission, who has finished third in his two starts at the meeting, in the first of which he was beaten by Heliowise. Eddie Arcaro has been assigned to the Omission colt, who also has 113 pounds E to carry. The field is completed by Edward M. OBriens filly, Bank Account, and Gustave Rings Platoon. Bank Account finished far back after showing early speed in a division of the Prioress Stakes here, while Platoon finished in front of Mission last out, but r has been a fairly consistent disappoint- t ment. .
