White Sox Sign Alabama Poly Hurler to Waterloo Contract The White Sox announced yesterday the signing of William Letchworth, 24-year-old pitcher from Alabama Polytechnical Institute. Letchworth, a native of Sebastian, Fla., will join the Sox farm club after graduation next month. Monday the Sox signed James "Buddy" Parker, speedy Baylor University outfielder, for a bonus reported to be about ,000. He, too, is slated to join the Three-Eye League Waterloo club aft«r graduation.
