C, worlds champion three-year-old trotting filly, arrived at Roosevelt Raceway this week from Orlando, Fla., to prepare for the 1951 campaign at Westbury starting May 21. Owned by A. C. Petersen, of West Hartford, Conn., Volo A. C. trotted to the new world mark of 2:04% at Roosevelt Race- way last summer. Eugene Pownall, who trains and drives Volo A. C, handled the filly in her world record-breaking perform- ance, clipping a fraction of a second from Martha Doyles 2:05 performance. Now four years old, Volo A. C. has been staked in the 0,000 Roosevelt Two-Mile Trot in September and the 0,000 McCon- nell Trot in June. In both events, she will compete against the cream of the nations trotters, including Pronto Don, Demon Hanover, Proximity, Chris Spencer and Silver Riddle.
