Johns Joy Pegged at 121 For Renewal of Crete Kinard Stallion Gets Pound More Than Seaward forWeek-End Race WASHINGTON PARK, Homewood. 111.. May 15. — The five-year-old Bull Dog stallion, Johns Joy, now trained by his owner, the Arkansas planter, J. A. Kinard. has been honored by racing secretary L. C. Bogenschutz with high weight of 121 pounds for the twenty-fourth running of Lincoln Fields 0,000 Crete Handicap, six-furlong dash which will feature next Saturdays program at Washington Park. Johns Joy seems altogether worthy of the honor, as he appears to be better than ever in this, his fourth season of campaigning. He has already passed his 1950 record by a slight margin and the season is still young. He won three races last year, earning 6,520. He has the same number of firsts and seconds with an additional third, for earnings of 7,625 this year. Next to Johns Joy in the handicap is Hasty House Farms Seaward with 120 pounds. The Pilate gelding, now six, was one of the best of the handicap division last year, accumulating 6,295 for the season and winning six races. At equal weight of 119 pounds are Hasty House Farms Roman Bath and the former grass track champion, Walmac Farms Volcanic.
