RAFFLE HOUSE, slow to reach his best stride, responded readily when placed to the drive and, under good handling, was up in the final strides to draw clear of CLIMBER. The latter raced JESS D. into defeat to assume a clear lead entering the stretch, faltered during the late stages and could not hold the winner. JESS D. was much used engaging for the initial advantage and had little left. PHANTOM HEELS rallied too late to seriously endanger the leaders. COUNT DEEP tired under pressure. BLITZEN LADY was unable to keep up. OSCULADY and JUST EIGHT were outrun. TOMMY GENTRY quit to a walk. MERRY ZAC was unable to improve her position when placed to the drive. JUNIOR WOLF had no apparent mishap. KILAYR failed to stay. FRIENDLY SANDS began sluggishly, as usual. SILVER PLATE quit. POCKET ALL, unhurried when outrun early, came between horses when shaken for the ultimate test and was up in the final stride to prevail over SUNSHINE ROSE. The latter held sway until well inside the stretch, then held on tenaciously in a sharp effort. STONY SNARK failed to respond when called upon for his best effort. BLANCHESTER was badly outrun during the early stages. COUSIN CLARA faiied to attain the lead and tired. MING TOI quit. GOLIAD retired steadily after showing brief speed. SCALPED quit badly. The latter reached the lead between calls during the stretch run, then continued on gamely, just missing. SIR DAVID, never far back while on the outside, raced evenly through the stretch without mishap. GRAIN MARKET held a clear lead inside the furlong marker, then gave way suddenly. FIRST SECURITY caught tiring horses. BRILLIANCE was unable to keep up. CAILLOU ROUGE had no excuse. BEAU CADET lacked speed. ROYAL HELIO tired. OTTER BROOK was through after six furlongs. BOO BOO SHOO raced HYPOSTYLE into defeat to reach the lead nearing the furlong marker, then faltered. LITTLE FLOWER closed with good courage in a sharp effort. BULLISH saved ground to no avail. OWENS CUTS was always outrun. HYPOSTYLE slipped through along the inside rail to take command on the final turn, then flattened out under punishment.
