AAU Names Eight-Man Team For Track Meet at Havana NEW YORK, N. Y., May 15 UP.— An eight-man track and field squad, headed by pole vaulter Bob Richards and shot putter Jim Fuchs, was named today by the National Amateur Athletic Union to represent the United States in an international meet at Havana, Cuba, May 20-21. Besides Richards and Fuchs, four other members of the group are 1951 national indoor champions. They are Eddie Con-well, New York Pioneer Club sprinter; Hugo Maiocco and Roscoe Brown, Pioneer Club middle-distance runners, and high jumper Josh Williamson of the Warinanco Athletic Club. Jim Gehrdes, former Penn State star who was runner-up to Harrison Dillard in the national indoor high hurdles, and Browning Ross of the Penn Athletic Club, who won the 1,500-meter race at the Pan-American Games, are the other members of the squad.
