Scarborough Downs Meeting To Be Staged as Scheduled PORTLAND, Me., May 15.— Sidney A. Goldfine, general manager of Scarborough Downs, announced today that the forthcoming meeting at the new course, from June 30 to September 3, inclusive, will be staged as scheduled. Goldfine pointed out that even if the bill outlawing night flat racing becomes law, it could not go into effect until 90 days after it is signed by the governor. This means, Goldfine pointed out, that night racing could be conducted at Scarborough until approximately August 25, which would take in 49 of the 56 scheduled days of sport. The remainder of the session would be completed on a daytime basis. Horsemen who plan to ship to Scarborough can do so, knowing that there will be no curtailment of the meeting.
