Opening Records at Monmouth MONMOUTH PARK, Oceanport, N. J., June 20. — Records tumbled like tenpins on Saturdays inaugural program. The opening day crowd of 19,645 was a big jump over the previous inaugural high of 15,715 in 1948, while the mutuel play reached ,207,013, a considerable increase over the previous 1948 record of ,130,671. Although the figures are impressive, the new records were not unexpected as this is the first time in the six-year history of this course that the meeting was begun on a Saturday. ■
