BOOTS BEST, forwardly placed from the beginning, disposed of VITA entering the stretch, then held on gamely to withstand SICKLE BABY. The latter, never far back, responded to punishment during the drive, but could not get to the top one. EXTRAVAGANCE held on well in a good effort and had no mishap. SPINSTER began fast, then dropped back and raced evenly. VITA went to the front early, made the pace to the stretch while engaging BOOTS BEST, but had nothing left for the drive. SALS PRIDE raced wide. TURKEY CALL tired. JUST THE SAME was never prominent. CONTINUED was far back throughout. LADY BELL, rank at the post, showed nothing. BENDANEAR began slowly. KIBBITZ, a sharp factor from the start, responded to brisk handling during the drive and disposed of LITTLE ZAC in the last sixteenth mile. LITTLE ZAC went to the front at once, made the pace until inside the stretch and continued willingly, but could not hold the top one. CAFE SINGER faltered during the drive. MONOLITH raced evenly and had no excuse. THE FARMER could not better his position when set down in the drive and drifted out while tiring. ANOTHER ENORA was outrun. WENDYS RAIDER began sluggishly. WHISP was far back throughout. PAPPYS REBEL could not keep up. BUSY HOP showed nothing. BEAU FORTUNE went lame during the running, pulling up in bad condition. McGRATHIANA, forwardly placed from the start, was bothered repeatedly during the stretch run when MISS CARACAS swerved, but was up in the last seventy yards to dispose of the latter. MISS CARACAS went to the front early, was weakly handled during the stretch run and, swerving while racing on her own courage, could not withstand the winner, although nuich the best of the others. SILVER DOME, rank during the post parade, began alertly, but dropped back after the start and raced evenly. RIGMAROLE, on the inside throughout, gave a good effort and had no mishap. NOCALLULA tired during the drive. EASY MARK raced wide. PLUS FOURS was never dangerous. LONE SHADOW raced greenly. FOURTH RACK 1 1-16 MILES. Our Request, Oct. 7, 1950—1:43—4—119. SQUIDGE, in nana to the last three-eighths mile, bothered TOMATO when taking command entering the stretch, responded to punishment and won going away. TOMATO, never far back, bore in after being roughed by SQUIDGE during the drive and could not threaten the latter when clear. COPPER POT lacked early speed, but finished fast under urging. JUST MADE IT, far back to the stretch, made up ground during the drive. DRAKE WIDGEON was unable tc reach the leaders when set down through the stretch. HAPPY ALL made a good bid entering the stretch, but tired badly during the last eighth. GRAND RIVER failed to stay after showing early speed. JATAK went into command early, made the pace to the stretch, but had nothing left for the drive. MAJOR ACTION showed nothing. ROSS BILL was through early. LUCKY DOO quit. NEWSWORTHY went to the front soon after the beginning established a clear lead before reaching the stretch and retained a good advantage thereafter while under a steady hand ride. BUBBINS, away alertly, raced nearest NEWSWORTHY after the start, could not threaten the winner, but was easily best of the others. BILLCELLA began fast, dropped back after the break, then made a mild bid entering the stretch, but could not menace the leaders. DATE BOOK, caught between horses and roughed leaving the backstretch, failed to recover after the mishap. FLORIDA FARMER was outrun. KINGS LADY tired after racing forwardly placed to the stretch. The latter, roughed when caught between horses after the break, recovered and raced steadily to the stretch, swerved to the outside when punished from the near side and could not reach the top one.
