Stars and Stripes, Skokie, Polly anna Close Saturday ARLINGTON PARK, Arlington Heights, HI., June 20. — Nominations for three Arlington Park stakes — the Stars and Stripes Handicap, the Skokie Handicap and the Pollyanna Stakes — close this Saturday, June 23, at midnight, instead of today, as appeared in yesterdays edition. The Stars and Stripes, with a purse of 0,000 added, is the richest grass course handicap in the world, and is for three-year-olds and upward at a mile and a furlong. It will headline the holiday program on July 4. The 5,000 added Skokie, which will test three-year-olds and upward at seven furlongs, is scheduled for Saturday, July 7, along with the 5,000 added Pollyanna, for two-year-old fillies at five and one-half furlongs, making for a gala double-header program at the local course.
