Horsemen Receive First Arlington Condition Book Total Distribution for 36 Days Will Be in Excess of ,350,000. The nations horsemen yesterday re-, ceived the first edition of the Arlington Park condition book, covering the first nine days of the 1952 meeting which opens June 16. The total distribution pegged for the Arlington Heights racing center will be in excess of ,350,000 for the 36 days of the meeting. Substantial increases in purses and stakeSi first indicated last September when executive director Benjamin F. Lindheimer upped added money on future stakes to a record, high, are readily apparent. Increases in overnight purses are even greater, proportionately, than those of the stakeraces. The opening condition book represents the first stanza of what will amount to the highest purse distribution, not including the added money in stakes, in" the history of Illinois racing. Commenting on the purse schedule offered in the first book, and that envisioned for the balance of the meeting, Lindheimer said: "It has always been the policy of Arlington and Washington Parks, in their co-ordinated meetings, to increase awards to horsemen to the fullest extent possible, according to conditions. "Wle are pleased to offer this substantially enriched program for 1952, a program which~we feel will give to the public the finest racing in America."
