HOLLIS REGUR— Drives Flying Tartar in the second and Uncle Buzz in the third race tonight at Maywood Parle. Pacing, Trotting Derby Candidates See Action Atomic Might, Clipper Hanover Top Respective Maywood Fields MAYWOOD PARK, May wood, HI., May 16. — Chicago-area harness racing fans will get a prevue Saturday nigh£ of what to expect in the 0,000 Maywood Trotting Derby and the 0,000 Chicago Pacing Derby. Fifteen candidates for these two rich stakes will see action in the nine-race program at Maywood Park. Five eligibles for the Pacing Derby, une 20, will go a mile in the seventh race, a ,250 open pace. Heading the field is Atomic Might, owned by b.tis Anderson, Lafayette, Ind. Atomic Might won in its last appearance in 2:04%, fastest mile of the Maywood meeting. - But that mark will be threatened by Thomas Hat, owned by Paul Wixom of Evanston, 111., making its first start since arriving from Santa Anita. Thomas Hat will be driven by Maywoods defending champion sulky pilot, Harry Burright, also a recent arrival from California* Completing this field will be Derby hopefuls Mr. Dale, Gallant Song and Chief Mite, and non-eligibles Goose Island and Miss Ruby. In the eighth race, a ,250 open trot at one mile, the A. D". Kriapp entry of Clipper Hanover and Little Steve will try to make up for last weeks poor showing in their joint debut. Bob Parkinson will drive Clipper Hanover and "Fred Parkinson will handle Little Steve. Theyre favored over a field that includes Malcolm, Johnny Brown, Buckie B., Sidney Guy, Moses and Fay Spencer.. All of these but Little Steve and Fay Spencer are potential contenders in the Trotting Derby, June 6. Four other Trotting Derby hopefuls will be on display in the ,000 sixth race, at one mile, but the favorites role goes to S. F. Palins Thunderation, - which wasnt named for the classic. Thunderation, off its consistent showing at. Santa Anita, rates as overnight choice against Clever Sunny, Delhi Lady, John Dee and Gene Long, all possible Derby starters, and Kaerl Wortny and Hal Tass. Saturdays program marks the half-way mark at Maywood Parks spring meeting, which will extend through June 21.
