« Pictus, Fair Game Renew Feud Today ] Staged Dead-Heat Finish in Recent Governors Handicap; : , Plymouth Rock Draws Seven i By AVERY BROWN Staff Correspondent SUFFOLK DOWNS, East Boston, Mass., May 16. — Ralph Lowes Pictus and J. J. Starlings Fair Game have a chance to renew their feud in tomorrows ,000 Plymouth Rock Handicap at Suffolk Downs. The two fleet sprinters wound up in a dead-heat for top honors in the Governors Handicap here a couple of Saturdays back and neither has been postward since. Weight assignments for the two rivals compare favorably with their last duel, each picking updone pound. Pictus tops the field with 121 and Fair Game is assigned 118 pounds. In all there are seven eligibles for the six-furlong week-end stake and it is very doubtful if any will decline the issue. The others in the feature include Phil Schwartz Charleston, 112; Putriment, Caval and Chmuras Little Step, 110; Tamarack Stables Sapajou, 109; E. M. OBriens Bank Account, 108, and Mrs. G. Robertsons Spats, 106 pounds. -Pictus wound up his Lincoln Downs campaign with an impressive victory over Royal Duke and Questagain before embarking on an unbeaten string in three successive starts here. Only one of the Pictor colts, triumphs have been in a handicap, the time he was forced to split half of the top prize in the Governors. He accounted for the Inaugural Purse, carrying 110 pounds. His next triumph was in an overnight allowance dash, winning from Duke Aumar and Fair Game. In that race the Lowe ace also carried 110 pounds, getting a seven-pound concession from Fair Game. Jimmy Dayern, who has ridden the four-year-old colt in most of his races, is expected again to be in the saddle. Made Trip to Garden State Fair Game, an honest son of Ariel Game — Lady Fanar, departed frpm- Suffolk Downs after his race in the Governors Handicap,, being transferred to Garden State Park to participate in. the Valley Forge Handicap last week-end. The connections of the Florida-bred colt decided against competing "in the event when Spartan Valor was sent postward. Since being returned here, Fair Game has been working in grand fashion and should be ready to" extend his feud against Pictus. Darrell Madden, who was successful with the Starling- colt, will not be available tomorrow because of his trip to the Preak-ness to ride Handsome Teddy. No rider has been named as yet to guide Fair Game. Charleston came out of winter quarters in fine fettle here on Tuesday and sprinted six furlongs in 1:11% to defeat Sapajou a head and earn a starting berth in the Plymouth Rock. The son of Some Chance has always been regarded as one of the top sprinters in this sector when, fresh. The 112 pounds he carries tomorrow is two lower than he had up in his winning effort. • Sapajou was not disgraced when beaten by Charleston. The five-year-old gelding was giving his rival five pounds in actual weight. The 109, he must carry tomorrow figures to find him arguing the decision right down to the wire. Earlier in the meeting, Sapajou registered a victory over Equihaze, Dateline and Spats while carrying the high" weight of that group. Little Step and Spats are capable sprinters but have a tough assignment to fulfill tomorrow. Each has won against top flight company, but will be at their peak for this engagement. Bank Account is the only newcomer in the event. The daughter of Shut Out — Balla Tryst is a recent arrival from Garden State Park where she failed in the Colonial Handicap after setting the early pace.
