NIRVANA, slow to settle into stride, rushed boldly on the final turn, caught the leader inside the final sixteenth and drew clear. PETER A. went right out with the leaders, remained in hand for a half mile, assumed command on the outside, shook off the bid of OMITTED, but tired badly. OMITTED closed stoutly to challenge in the stretch and faltered. SIR JOSEPH T., a forward factor, lacked a closing rally. TOOTSIE McCABE weakened after five furlongs. HIKIE DIKIE had no mishap. WRIGHTS WRONG worked her way up on the outside, responded to pressure entering the stretch, caught the leaders inside the final furlong and drew clear. SCHOLARSHIP was taken back after breaking with the field and steadied to the final turn, moved readily under urging, but was unable to make up for lost ground. PHIL HARRIS slipped through along the inside to vie for command and weakened. MESL forced the pace, but weakened in the final furlong. GREAT MORNING was a forward factor between horses, but lacked a closing drive. WAR TORO rushed along the rail in the final furlong. MR. FLARES was through after a half mile. DUKES BOY quit. ROSY SCENE improved position gradually on the outside and finished with good energy. TIGER MATT engaged for command in the stretch and faltered. ICE CAP lacked a closing rally. QUEEN ZAC weakened. CLAIRE DAUBER forced the pace for a half mile and tired. LONG HILL had no mishap. DANCE BAND was sluggish in the early stages. BOSS BENNIE was unable to keep up. MISS M. T. REARED BACK IN THE GATE UNSEATING RIDER, INJURING HIM AND WAS ORDERED SCRATCHED AFTER RETURNING TO PADDOCK WHEN IT WAS DISCOVERED SHE HAD INJURED HERSELF. ALL MONIES WAGERED ON MISS M. T. HAY EDY, put to pressure early, drew clear while saving ground, faltering when challenged near the end. EASY PADDY forced the pace to the final turn, swerved out badly under pressure and finished on the extreme outside. MARPHIL loomed as a threat in the stretch, then weakened. BANK DRIVE went evenly. DUKE AUMAR outran the field to take a long lead, skirted the inner rail, shortened stride and had nothing left at the end. SHADOWS START, slow to begin, moved with steady stride when set down, lost ground entering the stretch and was unable to menace. AIR ROCKET had no mishap. PONTALBA went evenly U. S. PICTUS raced in close attendance of the pace under steady restraint, moved to engage for command, but was unable to match strides with the winner SPATS rallied when pot to pressure, but was unable to menace. LITTLE STEP raced close to the pace for a half mile before weakening. SAPAJOU broke first, was taken back immediately and kept in hand to the final three furlongs, then failed to respond when roused.
